Researcher / PhD Candidate – Battery Safety & Diagnostics (m/f/x)
Help us make lithium-ion batteries safer, smarter and longer-lasting by combining experiments, modeling and data-driven diagnostics.
Battery4Life is a newly founded research company at Graz University of Technology and, as a COMET Center, cooperates with industry and academia in the field of battery technology innovation. The goal is to make batteries more efficient and sustainable. Safe operation is a clear focus to achieve the longest possible service life, both in the vehicle and through subsequent use. We are looking for a motivated researcher to join our team in the field of lithium-ion battery safety and diagnostics. The role focuses on modeling, data analysis, and predictive approaches to evaluate safety-relevant conditions in single cells and battery packs.
Job Profile
- Conduct literature research on battery safety, degradation and diagnostic methods.
- Develop and validate electrical models of lithium-ion batteries.
- Build data-driven models to predict safety-critical states.
- Collaborate with industrial and academic partners.
- Publish results and present at international conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry or related field.
- Knowledge of battery modeling or diagnostics.
- Experience with data analysis (Python, MATLAB).
- Excellent English skills (German is a plus).
