<p>We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated <strong>Senior Scientist &amp; Research Lead</strong> to strengthen our Research <strong>Area Prediction and Optimization</strong>. This position combines scientific excellence with project leadership and strategic development and offers the <strong>opportunity</strong> to directly assume management responsibilities for the area or to develop into an <strong>Area Manager</strong> role.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>

<li>Conduct and lead high-level scientific research in <strong>battery modelling, simulation, prediction, and optimization methods</strong>.</li>
<li>Develop innovative approaches for understanding and predicting battery behavior under normal operation and abuse conditions</li>
<li>Initiate, coordinate, and manage <strong>national and international research projects</strong> with academic and industrial partners.</li>
<li>Provide <strong>scientific, organizational, and strategic leadership</strong> by mentoring researchers and students, guiding team development, and contributing to the strategic research area’s long-term development</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Your Profile</strong></p>

<li>Excellent scientific background with a PhD in engineering, natural sciences, physics, mathematics, data science, or a related discipline</li>
<li>Expertise in Battery Modelling and Simulation (e.g. FEM), Multi-physics simulation, Digital twins and AI-based battery methods, Battery Safety and Performance</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in acquiring research projects from industry and public funding program</li>
<li>Solid experience in scientific research, research management, project coordination, and project controlling</li>

<p><strong>Battery4Life </strong>is a newly founded research company at Graz University of Technology and, as a COMET Center, cooperates with industry and academia in the field of battery technology innovation. The goal is to make batteries more efficient and sustainable. Safe operation is a clear focus to achieve the longest possible service life, both in the vehicle and through subsequent use.</p>

The role focuses on investigating the impact of mechanical, thermal, and electrical interventions during battery repair and disassembly on long-term performance, degradation, and safety. Another key aspect is the development of experimental and model-based methods to assess and accelerate the evaluation of these long-term effects.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">RELIABAT is dedicated to defining the State of Safety (SOS) for batteries, an important milestone for enhancing safety, reliability, and extending the service life of lithium-ion batteries.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It was inspiring to experience the strong commitment and open exchange among all project partners. In parallel to these valuable discussions, experimental measurements are currently underway. We are excited to announce that first results and further insights will be shared soon.</p>
